Create a Beautiful and Balanced Vignette in Three Steps

Creating vignettes in your home allows for those collected pieces and family heirlooms to have a moment. From console tables to mantles, utilizing these three techniques that vary in scale (and layering from there) will get you on your way to a uniquely styled vignette.

Select Your Focal Point

If you're styling a console table or mantel against a wall, this could include a mirror, artwork or wall decor. If you're styling a console table that floats in your space, select something long and dimensional, such as a tray, or long/low-height sculpture or wood bowl.

Select a Tall Accent Piece

This will be placed on either the right or left side of the design and can include a lamp or large vase with greenery to provide the balanced height needed.

Select Stackable and Layering Accessories

This item will be placed on the opposite corner of the tall piece and can include a lamp or vase to balance the height of what was selected for the opposite side (your tall accent piece).

Once your three grounding pieces are set, layer from there with small to mid-sized artwork, stacked books, a tray, or other vintage accessories you've collected.
